“I narrate to you from Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu 'alaihi wasallam) and you narrate to me from your opinion?” ‘Ubādah's reply to Mu'āwiyah―the Sahābah would not give precedence to anyone's opinion over the Hadīth of the Prophet.
